Apollo Logistics Men Presented Outstanding Performance Awards

Eight Apollo Logistics Training instructors, all with more than 500 hours teaching to their credit, have been presented "Outstanding Performance Awards" by Apollo Site Activation and Logistics for their contribution to the program.

Large Total

The men have a combined total of 5530 hours of instruction and have been presented 46 letters of commendation from various industry and NASA organizations. They were presented the awards as a part of the Apollo Logistics Training PRIDE program.

The list of award recipients included S.I. (Jose) Jiminez with 980 hours of instruction; John Winton, 820 hours; Don Bennett, 740 hours; Will Waddell, 700; Al Sohler, 660; Bill Green, 600; Len Urbaniak, 540, and Bill Ruffin, 520.

"These men have made a very unique accomplishment," said Earl Pollard, manager of Apollo Training and Support Documentation in commending the men and their record of completing at least 500 hours of instruction. "To my knowledge," he added, "this mark has never been attained in any recent history of the company."

"Each of these men is recognized by industry and NASA for his technical competence, instructor capability, and excellent over-all performance," Pollard said.
